🇫🇷 From France: Access via Col de Puymorens / RN20

Coming from France (Toulouse → Ax-les-Thermes → RN20/RN22 → Puymorens Tunnel or Col de Puymorens), you arrive directly in Pas de la Case, on the Andorran side. That's good news: you don't have to cross Andorra la Vella or the CG-2.

The catch: if you're already in Pas de la Case and want to head down toward Andorra la Vella (shops, hotels further down), the CG-2 will be closed until roughly 6pm. You'll be stuck on the Pas de la Case / Soldeu side during the race.

✅ Good news: coming from France (RN20/Puymorens Tunnel), access to Pas de la Case should not be directly cut off by the race — the peloton climbs toward the Envalira from Soldeu, not from the French border. You can arrive freely, but build in extra time.

⚠️ Reminder: the RN22 detour for the H2 avalanche gallery works is still in effect until the end of October 2026. Allow extra time on this route.

⛰️ The Port d'Envalira — the stage's high point

The Port d'Envalira is the highest road pass in the Pyrenees, at 2,408 meters of altitude. It sits just above Pas de la Case and marks the high point of this stage. The peloton will climb from the village before descending through the Envalira Tunnel.

It's one of the iconic climbs of Pyrenean cycling. The Grandvalira facilities sit at the foot of the pass — an ideal spot to watch the peloton go by if you arrive early enough.

🛣️ How to Plan Your Day on August 25

✅ Arrive before noon

If you're already in Pas de la Case or arrive early, you'll be able to enjoy the race without any trouble. Restrictions start around 1pm.

⚠️ Avoid 1pm–6pm

This is the most critical window. Route roads closed, massive traffic jams downstream. If you need to drive within Andorra, shift your trip.

ℹ️ After 6pm

Roads reopen gradually once the last official vehicle has passed. Expect significant traffic jams once circulation resumes.

🚫 Remote work recommended

Mobilitat recommends avoiding non-essential car travel between 1pm and 6pm and favoring remote work.

📅 What About Wednesday, August 26?

Stage 5 departs from Falset (Tarragona, Spain) toward Roquetes (Terres de l'Ebre) — a stage entirely outside Andorra. On August 26, Andorran roads should be back to normal from the morning onward. That said, there may still be some traffic jams left over from the previous day's spectators. Check the webcams before heading out.

👀 Want to See the Peloton Go By?

If you're already in Andorra, this is a unique opportunity. The best spots to watch the race are the Grandvalira area in Soldeu and the Pas de la Case / Port d'Envalira zone. Bring water, warm clothing (it's cold at 2,400 m even in August), and arrive well ahead of time.
