A fresh start for Pas de la Casa: Grandvalira opens its services building
12 million euros invested in a modern, sustainable facility
A breath of modernity is sweeping through Pas de la Casa this season: Grandvalira, through its subsidiary SAETDE, has now brought a new services building at the foot of the slopes into full operation, the result of an ambitious, sustainable 12 million euro investment. After a first partial opening last season, the 2026-2027 season marks the building's move to full service.

🌱 A construction built around sustainability
The project stands out for its strong ecological character:
♻️ Ecological innovations
- 🌳 Timber structure: The building relies primarily on timber, with little concrete, to minimise its carbon footprint.
- 🔥 Geothermal heating: 24 geothermal wells were drilled for heating. The building runs on a geothermal system that draws on underground energy.
- 🚶 Urban improvements: Over €3 million invested in renovating the surrounding streets (Avenue d'Encamp and Rue Bearn) to make access to the slopes smoother and more pleasant.
- 🏗️ Landscape integration: A historic retaining wall will be demolished to "open up" the urban space and better integrate the building into the Pas de la Casa landscape.
- 🚌 Transport: Eventually, a bus stop will be created on Rue Bearn so skiers can arrive directly at the foot of the slopes.
🎯 A complete opening, a strong message
With its full launch this season, the building sends a strong message:
- Commitment to modernisation: It shows Grandvalira / SAETDE's commitment to modernising Pas de la Casa.
- A shift towards sustainability: The focus on sustainability (timber, geothermal) marks a clear trend towards more responsible infrastructure across Andorran ski resorts.
- Long-term investment plan: The project is part of a 10-year investment plan. SAETDE is putting significant sums into the resort, particularly to develop infrastructure in Pas de la Casa — a sign that Grandvalira firmly believes in this area's potential.
