Grandvalira Ski Pass Insurance: What's Included in 2026-2027

New for the 2026-2027 season: every Grandvalira ski pass, whether a day pass or a season pass, now automatically includes accident and civil liability insurance, underwritten by CA Vida Assegurances (Creand group). It's no longer a paid add-on at the ticket office — cover is included in the price of the pass as soon as you buy it.
What the insurance covers
- Medical, surgical and hospitalisation costs in Andorra, up to €3,000 per insured person and per incident (€1,500 for COVID-19).
- On-slope rescue: sled, ambulance or helicopter, fully covered.
- Repatriation or medical transport back home, unlimited within Europe.
- Travel and accommodation for a family member if hospitalisation lasts more than 5 days (return tickets + hotel up to €75/day, 10 days max).
- Hotel costs for the insured person after hospitalisation, if an immediate return home isn't possible (same limits).
- Early return in case of the death or serious hospitalisation of a family member in Europe.
- Refund of the unused pass: up to €55/day (€200 cap) for a day pass, up to €440 for a season pass, if an injury prevents you from skiing again.
- Refund of ski lessons or activities not taken due to the accident, up to €200.
- Mountain search costs within the resort's boundaries, up to €9,000.
- Civil liability for damage caused to a third party on the slopes: capped at €7,500 per season for a day pass, €18,000 for a season pass (€150 excess per claim).
Season pass: an extra guarantee
Only the season pass includes a specific death/disability guarantee linked to a skiing accident: €6,000 in case of death (€3,000 for an insured person under 14, funeral costs), and €12,000 in case of total and permanent disability. This guarantee doesn't exist on the day pass, which provides a €600 death benefit regardless of cause.
What to know before you ski
- This is a first emergency medical care insurance: cover ends as soon as you return home or are admitted to a healthcare facility in your country of residence.
- It covers alpine skiing, cross-country skiing on marked trails, snowboarding, ski touring, freeride and freestyle within the ski area, as well as activities run by the resort (snowshoeing, snowmobiling, zip-lining, etc.) with the corresponding pass.
- Any off-piste skiing without resort supervision, or skiing outside opening hours, is excluded.
- This insurance doesn't cover luggage, trip cancellation or theft of equipment — consider a complementary travel insurance if you want cover for these.
In case of an accident: what to do
- Go directly to the resort's medical centre with your ski pass.
- For any information or assistance, call (+376) 88 16 46.
- Keep your pass's serial number, the on-slope medical report, and your receipts (pharmacy, orthopaedics).
- Send your file by email to prestacions@creandvida.ad, or by post to CA Vida Assegurances, SA (Av. Fiter i Rossell 22, AD700 Escaldes-Engordany, Andorra).
